An F1 tornado touched down near the small town of Deckers Point (about 7 miles northeast of Clymer) at 3:10 PM EST. It traveled about 2 miles before dissipating at 3:13 PM EST. The maximum estimated winds were about 90 MPH.The tornado blew the doors off of one house and caused the opposite wall to push out, while also lifting up the roof. A 100-year old house lost its entire roof, which was blown off and deposited about 150 yards away. Additionally, the house's garage was completely destroyed with cinder blocks thrown nearly 100 yards. There were numerous trees, power lines, and telephone poles downed. Sheds and small garages were damaged or destroyed, and one wooden garage was picked up and moved over the car that was parked inside.
Widespread flooding of roads and of at least 16 basements, in Marion Center, East Mahoning Twp, and northern Indiana County. Skywarn spotter in Marion Center reported 2.5 inches of rain from 10 AM EDT to 1230 PM EDT; 4 inches by 130 PM; 4.5 inches by 3 PM; and finally 4.6 inches at 7 PM EDT. By 3 PM EDT, numerous roads were reported flooded in East Mahoning Twp. By 7 PM, Little Mahoning Creek overflowed and flooded Route 119 between Marion Center and the northern border of Indiana County, and several vehicles in a parking lot were submerged. By 720 PM EDT, Canoe Creek flooded Juneau. By 815 PM EDT, near Mottarns Mill in North Mahoning Twp, East Creek Rd was washed out; it paralleled Little Mahoning Creek. Route 210 was damaged by flooding.
An NWS storm survey found damage from a microburst north of Yellow Creek State Park off of Harmony and College Lodge Roads. The path length was about one half mile with a width of intermittent damage about 200 yards wide. Two homes suffered roof damage as well as damage to siding and rain spouting. An outbuilding was destroyed with numerous trees toppled or snapped. Maximum winds were estimated at 80 MPH.
