Severe Weather History

About Severe Weather History

Severe Weather History is a reference database of severe weather in the United States — every tornado, hail storm, flood, wind event and more, recorded county by county since 1950. Every figure is derived from federal public-domain records: NOAA/NCEI Storm Events, NOAA SPC tornado tracks, FEMA disaster declarations and U.S. Census demographics.

This site is a historical archive, never a forecast or warning service. For official alerts, always use weather.gov. See the methodology page for how each number is derived and where the data has known limits.
