An NWS storm survey found damage from a microburst north of Yellow Creek State Park off of Harmony and College Lodge Roads. The path length was about one half mile with a width of intermittent damage about 200 yards wide. Two homes suffered roof damage as well as damage to siding and rain spouting. An outbuilding was destroyed with numerous trees toppled or snapped. Maximum winds were estimated at 80 MPH.
Trees and power lines downed by thunderstorm winds. Beaver County Aliquippa,09,1445EST,,,1,0,0,0,Lightning A 17 year-old male was hospitalized after being struck by lightning Sunday afternoon while a group was playing football on the Hopewell Township High School soccer field. He later died April 10, 1995, of lightning injuries and cardiac arrest.
Trees were blown over at Marion Center. Other damage occurred from Shelocta to Georgeville. Flooding was observed along Route 119. Other local roads were temporarily impassable. Observed rainfall was 2.3 inches in 30 minutes.
