Public report of hail ranging in size from one-quarter inch up to three-fifths of an inch in The Hammocks near SW 142 Avenue and SW 112 Street. Additional pea -sized reports were received in the nearby Kendale Lakes area.
A trained spotter called to report quarter size hail falling at SW 107th Avenue and Bird Road. There were also many other reports of dime and pea size hail falling in the same area. Pea size hail was also reported at the local National Weather Service office in Miami located on FIU South Campus.
In the Fountainbleu area south of Doral and west of Miami International Airport, a report was received via media from the general public. The picture showed mostly small hailstones less than 1/2 inch with one or two up to penny size.
