What the reports say

The weather observer at Homestead Air Reserve Base (KHST) reported a funnel cloud approximately 3 to 5 miles to the southwest. Movement was to the northeast along a gust front and the funnel cloud dissipated near the base.
Numerous reports of a large funnel cloud were received in the South Miami-Dade County area from areas as far away as Kendall to Cutler Bay. An off duty NWS employee reported that the funnel cloud was located a few miles south-southwest of Zoo Miami near the intersection of SW 190th St. and SW 137th Ave. The funnel lasted about 12 minutes. There were no reports of touchdown. The event was covered quite extensively by broadcast and print media.
Trained spotters sighted funnel clouds near SW 117th Avenue and 48th Street around 12:30 PM, and west of The Falls in Kendall shortly after 1 PM. The funnel clouds developed along the sea-breeze front and were short-lived.
