A funnel cloud was observed by motorists along the Sawgrass Expressway in NW metro Broward County. The funnel cloud was just west of the highway in an unpopulated area and extended very close to the ground, although there were no confirmed reports of a touchdown.
Funnel clouds were reported in eastern Broward County. These funnel clouds were associated with a line of showers extending from Oakland Park to Davie. The showers were moving slowly east. No reports of funnel clouds touching down were received.
The weather observer at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport reported a funnel cloud. Additionally, local law enforcement officials and a trained spotter relayed similar reports of a funnel cloud near the southeast quadrant of the FXE airport.
