Five inches of rain fell in Brady with heavier rains in southwest McCulloch County. There was widespread street and road flooding throughout the county and Highway 71 was closed. The storms also caused numerous power outages.
The emergencey management official reported several roads around Brady were closed due to high water up to two feet. He also reported that many small streams were over their banks and several roads across the eastern and central portions of the county were closed because of high water caused by runoff from heavy rain that fell overnight.
Slow moving thunderstorms dropped up to 8 inches of rain across parts of McCulloch County, producing widespread flooding. Most roadways across the county were flooded and impassable. One woman had to be rescued from a creek when her car was washed off Farm Road 502 near Mercury. Several bridges were washed out, with heavy debris reported at low water crossings.
