A downburst struck the town of Brady, causing damage to the north side of the city. Several buildings lost parts of their roofs, while tree and shingle damage was widespread. Hail up to 1 inch in diameter acompanied the storm.
The Melvin postal worker reported damaging thunderstorm winds removed all of the roof decking from a residence, a hay barn was completely destroyed, a 100 year old oak tree was toppled, and two telephone poles were downed.
Damaging thunderstorm winds peeled off the entire metal roof of the school located in Rochelle and damaged at least 15 other roofs in the area. Extensive water damage to the school was also reported. The winds downed many trees throughout the town.
