From KSHB 41 Action News: A 35-year-old Maryville, Missouri man died Tuesday afternoon after he was struck and killed by lightning while fishing. Maryville Public Safety officers were dispatched around 12:30 to the City Reservoir on a 9-1-1 call. When they arrived, they located Ryen Browning dead on the scene. An initial investigation indicated that Browning was fishing from the bank when he was struck by lightning.||Link to Article: https://www.kshb.com/news/state/missouri/missouri-man-struck-killed-by-lightning-while-fishing .
Severe thunderstorm winds gusted to 80 MPH in Skidmore. There were numerous reports of downed power lines, large trees blown over and roof damages to houses. Many of the large trees and limbs blocked roadways in Skidmore and fell on top of houses and cars. The entire population of Skidmore lost electrical power as a result of the storm. St Joseph Power and Light also reported power losses in Quitman and Graham.
The same tornado that formed 3 miles NW of Fillmore (Andrew County) continued northeast and dissipated near Pumpkin Center. Damage to barns, outbuildings, trees and power lines occurred on the west side of Pumpkin Center.
