The north fork of the Shenandoah River at Cootes Store rose 8 feet in 4 hours. Rapid flooding on Runion Creek and Fulks Run damaged a significant amount of private property, forced 20 evacuations, closed numerous roads, and trapped several people in their homes. Several trees, telphone poles, and power lines were downed along these waterways.
The river gauge at Muddy Creek in Mount Clinton, VA reached flood stage and peaked at 9/84 feet at 16:15 EST. A barn and surrounding fields began to flood near Mount Clinton. Flooding was also reported on Custers Road and Muddy Creek Road where significant flood depth was noted on the Muddy Creek Road side. Both roads were impassible.
