What the reports say
Written by National Weather Service staff at the time of the event · public domain
Winds from a dry microburst knocked over 15 trees and damaged a motorhome at Emigrant Springs State Park, located at 4000 feet in the Blue Mountains. An ASOS site 4 miles away in Meacham recorded a peak wind gust of 46 mph associated with this storm.
A downburst occurred from a strong thunderstorm that affected several unoccupied, parked mobile homes. One of the mobile homes was lifted 30 feet into a neighboring mobile home, destroying the lifted mobile home. Other mobile homes suffered some roof and other structural damage, as evidenced from broken glass and insulation around the site.
A NWS Storm Survey conducted the day after the event revealed areas of isolated down trees and tree branches, where one of the downed trees had landed on a home. There was also an area of corn crops that had been blown over in a unidirectional manner.
