A severe thunderstorm caused extensive tree damage on and to the east of Princeton University in Princeton Borough. Wind damage was reported from Nassau Street to Carnegie Lake. Several homes and vehicles were damaged by fallen trees along Harrison Street, Sycamore Road and Cedar Lane. Four homes were badly damaged as were vehicles on the Butler Tract off of Harrison Street. This included graduate student housing. Some students and families were evacuated to the Frist Campus Center. On the university grounds itself, trees were knocked down around Palmer Stadium, along the intersection of Faculty Road and Broadmead Street, Ivy Lane and along Washington Road. In Princeton Township, wind damage occurred on the opposite side of Carnegie Lake along Plainsboro Road as far east as Connector Road. Some roadways remained closed due to the fallen trees into the 17th. Power was fully restored on the 18th. No injuries were reported.
A microburst from a severe thunderstorm caused wind damage at Mercer County Airport and nearby sections of Ewing Township. At the airport, a plane was thrown across a roadway into a building. Large sections of steel corrugated roofing was ripped from a few hangers. A mobile home office was destroyed. Several small planes were pushed into each other. In Ewing Township, five homes on Sandy Lane were damaged by downed trees. One family was displaced. A wind gust of 64 mph was recorded at Mercer County Airport.
A severe thunderstorm knocked down about a half dozen large trees in Hamilton Township. The trees were knocked down on and off of Jani Avenue, Kuser Road, Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Road and in Veteran's Park. The tree wind damage stopped in the Ravenscroft housing development. One home had its lawn furniture tossed and screens ripped away. Another home lost its mail box and party tent. Large tree limbs and wires were also knocked down in West Windsor Township.
