Logan County was hit with winds estimated near 100 mph, torrential rain and hail. The combination of wind and hail flattened corn and wheat fields, overturned and damaged irrigation systems, damaged buildings, snapped off power poles and uprooted large trees. A tractor-semitrailer was overturned on Highway 83. An airplane and hangar were destroyed. Over fifty windmills were toppled or damaged in Logan, Thomas and Hooker Counties. Damage was estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
