A severe thunderstorm moved across southern Lauderdale County and brought a swath of hail. The largest hailstone was baseball sized which was observed at Meridian Key Field by control tower observers. This hail lasted five minutes and dented a few cars. Hail up to tennis ball size occurred along Valley Road south of I-20/59. Golfball sized hail fell in the Zero community and around Lost Gap near the East Mississippi nursing home. Hail up to quarter size fell along Causeyville Road just outside of Meridian.
The supercell thunderstorm that moved across the southern portion of Kemper county, near the Tamola Community, moved across the far Northeast corner of Lauderdale county. The storm produced quarter to golf ball sized hail before it moved into Alabama.
A strong to severe thunderstorm brought a swath of hail up to around quarter size to portions of central and eastern Lauderdale County. Penny size hail occurred in the Causeyville/Long Creek area. Hail of around quarter size, or slightly larger, fell just north of Marion. A windshield was cracked by hail of at least quarter size near Dalewood.
