A swath of large hail continued out of Warren County and moved across central Hinds County, including a portion of the Jackson metro area. Substantial vehicle damage occurred as windows were blown out, and substantial roof damage occurred as a result of the hail.
A swath of large hail fell across Hinds county, continuing from the Warren county line near I-20 and then east-northeastward across the city of Edwards where hail as large as 2 inches was found. The hail swath continued eastward just north of I-20, impacting the city of Clinton and subsequently the northern Jackson metro area where hail as large as 1.75 inches fell. Hail continued to fall as the storm moved east into Rankin county.
Large hail in a swath from near Raymond through the south side of Jackson. Numerous social media and broadcast media pictures showed golf ball sized hail along this swath, with several pictures showing hail stones up to the size of Easter eggs (hen eggs 2.0 inches). The largest measured stone was the size of tennis balls (2.5 inches) in southwest Jackson.
