Thunderstorm winds knocked down 39 telephone poles, several power lines and trees, and a tower. A shrimp boat was overturned and two 80 foot trawlers that were tied up broke loose with one being flipped by the winds. Wind gust of around 100 mph wind gust were recorded at the port police office.
Thunderstorm winds ripped the roof off of the administration building of a church. The debris from the roof damaged three cars in the parking lot and caused minor injuries to two people in one of the vehicles when the glass in the rear window shattered.
