A cluster of thunderstorms moving northeast about 35 mph blew down several trees near Mittie according to state police. A damage survey conducted by the Allen Parish emergency manager showed that three homes or mobile homes and several barns were damaged by strong winds near Mittie.
NWS Storm Survey found microburst wind damage in the Hampton community along Cottongin Castor Road around the intersection with Highway 104. Numerous large trees were uprooted with one falling on a house. A mobile home had its roof blown off. All damage was in a WNW to ESE direction with winds estimated around 70 mph.
NWS Storm Survey found a downburst struck along Tram Martin Road southwest of Leblanc. The sheet metal roof and attached porch of one home near the center of the downburst was blown off to the northwest and landed in the backyard. A few trees were blown down in an outward pattern to the southwest and northeast of the home. Winds were estimated at 70 mph.
