The public reported baseball-sized hail in Oostanaula, half-dollar-sized hail southwest of Calhoun, and quarter-sized hail near the Bartow county line about six miles south of Calhoun. Hail covered the ground up to two inches deep south of Calhoun. The public estimated wind gusts at 60 mph near the Bartow county line, but other than a few tree limbs, no other damage was reported.
Several reports were received from the public of quarter to golf ball size hail across portions of Gordon County from between Calhoun and Resaca southeast toward Sonoraville. The large hail damaged several vehicles as well as windows to residences and businesses.
A number of reports were received from amateur radio operators and the public of one to two inch diameter hail. Nickel-sized hail in Calhoun at 519 pm EST, was followed by quarter to half-dollar-sized hail in both Calhoun and Plainville at 527 pm EST, and then golf ball to 2.0 inch diameter hail at 530 pm EST about 4.5 miles south of Calhoun.
