Two homes received moderate damage from the tornado while several storage sheds and a detached garage were completely destroyed. A few trees were snapped and numerous power poles were downed. No injuries or deaths were reported. One person whose home was struck by the tornado took shelter in the basement.
A very active tornado day across the Texas Panhandle with tornadoes dropping out of the sky everywhere. Damage to several homes, fencing, and outbuildings from winds and some minor roof damage from the large hail. VORTEX, Skywarn Spotters, storm chasers and public agencies were calling in tornado reports with most of them over open country. All the above tornado paths are estimates based on video and spotter reports.
NWS storm surveyed a tornado which occurred 12 miles north of Pampa at 614 pm CDT before it lifted at 628 pm CDT 15 miles NNW of Codman. The tornado damaged powerlines north of Pampa, with a damage path that was over 9 miles long and 50 yards wide. Tornado was given an EF-1 rating.
