A large manufacturing building under construction (about 90 percent complete) near the highway 11/I-26 intersection collapsed due to strong winds. Some construction equipment was heavily damaged or destroyed by the collapsing building. Large tree limbs were also blown down nearby.
Three large trees were blown down on Anderson Mill Rd, about 5 miles southwest of downtown Spartanburg. Several hangars and ten aircraft were damaged at the Spartanburg Memorial Airport. A tree was blown down on a shed near Spartanburg and multiple trees were blown down from the south side of Spartanburg to near Pacolet.
Parts of roofing were torn from 6 adjacent businesses at a shopping center off Rainbow Lake Rd on the northwest side of Boiling Springs. Heavy rain falling into the open roofs caused significant damage to the interiors of the businesses.
