Heavy rain caused widespread flash flooding across Rogers County. As many as 40 county roads were closed due to flooding. Highway 88 near Inola was flooded as well. City streets in Claremore were flooded and the flood waters approached homes and businesses. Homes in Verdigris were also flooded.
Near Claremore, OK Hwy 66 north of the city was closed for an hour by high water. Cat Creek overflowed its banks and flooded South Muskogee Avenue. Many other streets experienced less serious flooding.In Inola, five homes and a business were flooded near the 100 block of East Commercial and NE C Street. Rural areas to the south of town experienced significant flooding.Low-lying rural roads near Catoosa and Chelsea also had flooding problems.
Heavy rain caused flash flooding across the northeast part of Rogers County during the morning hours of the 1st. Highway 28 on the southeast side of Chelsea had to be closed and numerous county roads had to be closed. Water also entered some businesses in the city of Chelsea.
