Continued heavy rains dumped 7 to 12 inches of rain over a large portion of Madison county. This extremely heavy rain flooded numerous streets and roads. Numerous businesses, apartment complexes and homes sustained significant flood damage.
Widespread flooding along with some significant flooding occurred across the Canton area due to heavy rainfall. Radar estimated rainfall of 5 to 8 inches fell in and to the north of Canton. Numerous streets were flooded with multiple cars stalled or partially submerged in flood waters. Water also entered several buildings and homes.
Heavy rain between four and seven inches fell across a large portion of Madison County during the evening hours of October 16th. This heavy rain caused several roads to become flooded and for several homes to take in water just west of Canton.
