A swath of penny to golf ball size hail fell across a large portion of central Lowndes County generally east of the Highway 45 corridor. On the west side of Columbus, golf ball size hail dented some vehicles and a few windows were broken out of some businesses.
A swath of hail fell from six miles west of Columbus to near the state line. Quarter to golfball size hail fell over Elm Lake. Golfball size hail fell at the corner of highways 373 and 50, on Talley Road, Carr Road and along Highway 45 North near Boswells Animal Clinic. The largest hail that fell was between hen egg and tennis ball size at the east back of Stennis Lock and Dam. Quarter size hail also fell just north of Columbus at the intersection of Lincoln Road and Highway 45 North.
