8.5 inches of rain fell in the Easton area with flash flooding reported on city streets and roads entering and leaving town. 100 homes or businesses suffered damage with 35 having major damage. One home was destroyed. A nursing home with 40 residents had to be evacuated.
During a stretch where 6-9 inches of rain fell across the region in a short couple days, isolated flash flooding occurred in various places. In this case, Kansas State Highway Route 5 was closed near Lansing due to fast moving water.
