Funnel cloud observed well north of the intersection of Hillsboro Blvd and Nob Hill Road, north of North Parkland. Initial funnel cloud extended about 20 percent of the way down from the base of the clouds for approximately 1 minute. A second, smaller funnel cloud was also briefly observed just south of the first funnel.
Trained spotters observed several small tornadoes and funnel clouds moving onshore over Boca Raton, mainly near Florida Atlantic University between Glades and Yamato Roads moving west. The tornadoes were not confirmed by other sources, and no damage reports were received. Therefore, it is assumed that the funnel clouds never touched the ground.
Spotter reported a funnel cloud extending 80 percent of the way to the ground from cloud base in the Belle Glade area. Spotter noted that the funnel did not extend to the ground. This was associated with generating convection that interacted with a lake-breeze boundary peripheral to Lake Okeechobee.
