An airport weather observer spotted a small funnel cloud around 2:30 pm about 2 miles north of the Jacksonville International Airport complex. The funnel persisted for less than 1 minute before dissipating. Damage was not reported.
Several reports of a funnel cloud were received between 802-811 pm local time. The cloud formed over the south end of Amelia Island over Nassau Sound. One report said that it touched down as a waterspout; another report said that the cloud lifted back up into the parent cloud.
The Air Traffic Control Center at the Jacksonville International Airport reported a funnel cloud and possible touchdown about 2 to 3 miles east of Baldwin. There was no confirmation of a touchdown nor any damage reports.
