The 911 Call Center reported that individuals were stranded in a Kia vehicle due to flash flooding from nearby streams along Camino Los Navarro in Barrio Quebrada Arenas, near Road PR-1 in San Juan. The floodwaters inundated the roadway, creating hazardous conditions and prompting a rescue response.
Flooding of roads and streets was reported along many sectors of San Juan and adjacent municipalities in association to a frontal boundary that became stationary. The heaviest rainfall fell in the Santurce area of San Juan. Some stranded cars and flooded homes were reported.
The 911 Call Center reported a fallen utility pole at Camino Concepcion Sanchez (Concepcion Sanchez Way) and blocking the roadway. Electrical cables were also reported as hanging and over the roadway. This incident occurred as the outer bands of Hurricane Erin moved onshore.
