The proximity of a subtropical jet induced an upper level short wave trough. These features combined with a surge of surface moisture and local effects to produced widespread showers across the interior and northern sections of Puerto Rico.
Intense rainfall led to serious but localized urban flooding at Parcelas Roberto Clemente II, located between the Pajuil and Campo Alegre neighborhoods of Hatillo. Around 28 families sustained major property damage as mud laden runoff waters flooded their homes.
A member of the public reported to the 911 Call Center that a tree, along with power lines, fell next to Establo Modesto Espinosa on Road 689, due to convective weather near that area. The incident is currently obstructed traffic.
