The remnants of Tropical Storm Erin caused flash flooding across central and southern sections of Dade County. Locations that flooded include sections of Highway 39 near Pennsboro and north of Greenfield, a section of County Road NN near the Dade and Lawrence county line, a section of Highway 97 south of Lockwood, several sections of Highway K between Pennsboro and Everton, a section of Highway 160 near its intersection with Highway 245, a section of Highway O just east of its intersection with Highway 160, and a section of Highway U east of its intersection with Highway 245.
Sixty to 85 mph wind gusts created widespread damge to trees, power poles, and a few structures across much of Dade County. The southern half of the county was impacted the greatest, particularly in the community of Lockwood where numerous large trees were uprooted. Power line damage created power outages for residents of the community. There was also considerable tree and power pole damage in Greenfield as several city streets were blocked by debris. Power outages in Greenfield ranged from 24 to 48 hours.
Several homes and business sustained flood damage across the county. Several roads and bridges were severely damaged or washed away across the county. This report will contain the total dollar estimate for flood damage to infrastructure, businesses, and homes across Dade County.
