A tornado touched down near Louisiana Highway 1 and Highway 400 damaging 39 houses. Ten to twelve of the homes were severely damaged while six of the homes were destroyed. In addition, the tornado destroyed a mobile home when it lifted it from its foundation and uprooted numerous trees.
Heavy rainfall during the early morning hours overwhelmed local drainage with numerous houses and business reported flooded. 275 hours and 5 business were flooded with 50 of those houses reporting majore flooding. Hardest hit communities were Belle Rose, Paincourtville, and Pierre Part. 7.61 inches of rain was recorded at the emergency operations center in Napoleonville.
Thunderstorm winds heavily damaged three businesses and caused substantial damage to about twenty seven houses and a sheriff's office motor pool. The winds also knocked down numerous trees and power lines. A wind gust of 56 mph was recorded at an automated LSU agricultural station near Paincourtville about four miles north northwest of Napoleonville.
