There were numerous reports of quarter to golf ball size hail the south and southwest of Midwest from Interstate 25 to Wyoming Highway 259. The hail accumulated a few inches along Highway 259, leading to travel being hampered for a few hours.
A storm moved into Natrona County and rapidly strengthened as it moved toward Highway 220 southwest of Casper. The thunderstorm peaked in intensity along Highway 220. A motorist reported golf ball size hail when driving through the storm.
Trained spotters reported anywhere from penny to quarter size hail on the east side of Casper and in Evansville. The storm intensified as it headed toward Casper Mountain. Along Hat Six Road southeast of Casper, hail up to the size of limes was reported.
