Hail driven by wind gusts estimated at 65 to 70 mph caused devastation along a track from Coal Divide to Banks Road and Highway 585. Shingles were blown off roofs, one roof was torn from a house, siding was broken, paint was pounded off walls, windows were broken, and window screens were ripped. A small outbuilding was blown over with the splinters spread along the ground downwind. Hay and pasture grass were flattened and trees were stripped of leaves and bark. Six electrical poles were broken. Antelope and deer fawns, birds, and rabbits were killed.
Numerous reports of broken windows, building damage, extensive camper and vehicle damage, and extensive tree damage throughout the Devils Tower area. There was one injury when a person suffered an elbow contusion from flying debris at a campground and had to receive medical attention.
