Several roads were reported to be flooded and blocked. These incuded Justus Mill Road, St. Peter Road, Cripple Creek Road and Hope Road. Millers Creek Road was damaged by flowing water from Miller Creek. Information on damage to roads and infrastructure provided by Virginia DOT.
At least four homes were impacted by flash flooding on the south side of Wytheville, generally along and near Reed Creek and Greasy Creek. A basement wall collapsed at one home on Pump Hollow Road, with an estimated $25,000 worth in damage. Water from reed creek was observed flowing through a home on the Grayson Turnpike, as well as through a garage and a yard on Greasy Creek Road. Several roads were flooded and closed, including Galilee Church Road, Cinnamon Run Road, and Fourth Street near Spring Street.
Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches in a few hours across parts of southeast Wythe County left three cars submerged in water in Whipering Pines subdivision. Water was also reported across Danner and Whispering Pines roads. Flooding also occurred at National Fish Hatchery with some fish lost.
