Microburst occurred in the area of Norfolk Avenue, Mediterranean Avenue, Pinewood Drive, and Lake Drive. Several large trees were downed, some of which brought down power lines and power poles. A church steeple was blown off and a car in the church parking lot was overturned. All damage was oriented from southeast to northwest.
Severe wind gusts up to 52 knots (60 miles per hour) produced widespread damage across the City of Virginia Beach. The most significant damage occurred in Princess Anne where fences and powerlines were downed along with several trees. Numerous trees were also downed in Pungo and along Blackwater Road in Blackwater.
Strong thunderstorm winds downed several trees and power lines throughout much of Virginia Beach. Thousands were left without power as a result. Large limbs were also downed onto a home in Gallops Corner, damaging the roof.
