One fatality occurred when the roof was blown off the Pizza Town Restaurant onto a car that was stopped in the eastbound lane of Route 58 waiting for the green light from a traffic signal. The traffic signal also fell damaging another car stopped at the intersection but did not result in any injuries to the occupants.||The main damage occurred near the intersection of Memorial Drive and Highway 58. The National Weather Service survey team found trees either up-rooted or snapped off in an area approximately one mile long and a half mile wide in the vicinity of the intersection.
