An areal survey was conducted in Luray. An intermittent path of damage approximately 3 miles long from the high school to the east was caused by straight line winds from thunderstorm microbursts. Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted. One home had its tin roof and chimney blown off. Numerous barns and outbuildings were either damaged or destroyed. One mobile home was damaged. Eight parked vehicles had their windows blown out by wind blown rocks. Many power lines were also downed. The strongest wind in Luray destroyed a large well constructed 30 foot by 40 foot barn. Total structural damage by local Emergency Management was estimated to be around $237,000.
Widespread tree damage in the central and northern portions of the county. A metal shed was crushed and blown into the road. A barn north of Luray was destroyed by winds killing two cattle and heavily damaging farm vehicles and equipment. Property damage at the farm was estimated to be around $200 thousand.
Page County Emergency Management reported numerous trees down at the intersection of Old Stanley Road and Forest Drive and Old Stanley Road as well as Pond Avenue. Ten homes were damaged by trees and one storage facility was destroyed. A trailer camper was blown over. Power lines were also downed.
