The stream gage on the Rapidan River near Culpeper indicated that flooding occurred during the specified timeframe, with a peak stream level of 14.1 feet at 7:00 AM EST. At 14 feet, River Road on the Orange County side of the Rapidan River is flooded in a few spots, and pastureland is flooded on both sides of the river. Other low lying roads near the river are also beginning to flood, and access to homes may become limited. No structures are affected at this level.
Greenwood Road was closed due to flooding between Constitution Highway and Spicers Mill Road. Barnetts Road was closed due to flooding between North Madison Road and US-15 (James Madison Highway). Old Gordonsville Road was closed due to flooding.
The USGS stream gage on the Rapidan River near Culpeper exceeded the 13 foot flood stage during the indicated period. The peak level of 13.32 feet occurred at 7:45am EST. |VA-611 Raccoon Ford Road was closed due to flooding along the Rapidan River.
