Thunderstorm winds caused several trees down across the central and northern portion of Henry County. This includes trees down on a house with people trapped inside in Fieldale. Heavy damage was also reported on Skyview Trail in the Spencer area. One mobile home received heavy damage, another home had its roof lifted off, a shed was destroyed, several vehicles were heavily damaged, and a gazebo was blown away. In the Dyer Store area Martin Stables received heavy damage. it was here where a machinery storage building, hay barn, and half a cinder block building were destroyed. Most of the farm equipment was destroyed by falling debris.
Trees were blown down across Henry County, with the highest winds and most damage reported in the northern half of the county. Numerous power outages were reported with damage to power lines and poles in more than 70 locations. mostly in the Fieldale area.|There was severe damage to several buildings at Martin Stables in eastern Henry County with damage estimated at $100,000.00 by the owner.
Thunderstorm winds blew down at least twenty trees in a swath of damage through Henry County and the city of Martinsville from 3:50 PM EST to 4:12 PM EST. Over 2,000 residents lost power due to the trees falling on power lines. Additional locations in Henry County that suffered power outages included Axton, Chatmoss, Collinsville, Fieldale, Horsepasture, Leatherwood, and Stanleytown.
