Microburst developed along NH/VT border at Bridge Street in Lancaster, NH and moved northeast toward Lancaster Fairgrounds. In the process, it just crossed the Connecticut River in Guidhall, VT that uprooted and snapped a dozen or so trees along the river bank in VT.
A cold front moved across Vermont during the late afternoon and evening hours of July 2nd resulting in severe thunderstorms across parts of the state. Thunderstorm winds downed trees and powerlines with Chittenden County being hardest hit. In Colchester, Burlington, and Essex thunderstorm winds downed numerous trees and powerlines leaving a number of communities without power for many hours. In Essex lightning struck a garage setting it on fire.
A squall line moved across Vermont ahead of a strong cold front during the late afternoon and evening hours of August 31st resulting in severe thunderstorms across much of the state. Hardest hit were Addison, Chittenden, and Franklin Counties. In Enosburg Falls thunderstorm winds destroyed a mobile home and knocked three off their foundations and damaged the roof of another building injuring one person. In Addison and Chittenden Counties there were numerous reports of large trees downed and uprooted, and power lines downed by thunderstorm winds.
