Flash flooding was reported along Taylor Canyon on the afternoon of June 4h. This flooding eroded a six food embankment along White Rim Road in Canyonlands National Park, and carried sediment all the way to the Green River. Additionally, several washes along Taylor Canyon Road ran and washed out sections of Taylor Canyon Road. No other damages, and no injuries or fatalities, were received.
Runoff from heavy rainfall caused flash flooding near White Rock Point during the evening of the 15th. Mud 4 feet deep was washed onto Highway 191 near mile marker 17. Temporary levees were also built to keep flood waters out of nearby houses. A car was also trapped by debris in a nearby wash, but no injuries occurred.
Heavy rainfall resulted in a flash flood within Arch Canyon with fast moving water at least four feet deep. An SUV that was parked along the Arch Canyon Trail road was carried down the canyon about 2.2 miles. The people who owned the SUV were camped on higher ground and had to hike out of the canyon for assistance after the flood waters subsided.
