A strong upper level distrubance along with a very warm humid airmass resulted in a squall line which swept across southeast Texas on May 4th. The storms mainly affected the northern half of southeast Texas, moving as far south as Interstate 10 before weakening. Numerous reports of hail up to golfball sized were received, along with a few reports of downed trees. Flash flooding occurred in Grimes and central Washington Counties.
