Thunderstorms produced heavy rain that caused flash flooding. Some people in Brackettville and Fort Clark were evacuated from their homes due to flooding. A CoCoRAHS observer five miles west of Brackettville reported 11.86 inches of rain.
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms striking before midnight caused flash flooding over most county roads, with the exception of U.S. 90, according to the Kinney County Sheriff's Department. Average rain amounts across the county were 1 to 2 inches, with widespread 4 inch amounts and isolated totals to 8 inches in the southwest corner of the county.
The showers and thunderstorms that had formed ahead of the upper level disturbance covered most of Kinney County, producing a general rainfall of 1 to 2 inches and isolated totals to 4 inches. Flash flooding developed in the early morning hours and ended just after sunrise. Minor damage was reported to county roads and bridges.
