The final severe thunderstorm for the evening developed just to the north of Robert Lee. This thunderstorm maxed out right over Robert Lee producing soft ball size hail and winds to 87 mph. This produced significant damage to vehicles and some houses.
An observer had witnessed the tornado touching the ground multiple times about 4 miles southwest of Silver. This tornado path length and beginning time were estimated using radar data and eyewitness accounts. The path width was also estimated.
Slow moving thunderstorms produced 3 to 5 inches of rain across the central and western sections of Coke County. Several roads were flooded and impassable, including Highway 208 south of Robert Lee. Three feet of water covered the roadway.
