Public reported wind damage at Olive Grove Church, and nearby area, near Turbeville. Submitted photos of damage included a downed tree and numerous downed tree limbs, damage to columns at the church, toppled brick signs and tombstones, significant damage to metal buildings, carports, fences, playground equipment, etc. Some small hail was still on the ground the next morning.
A National Weather Service Storm Survey Team confirmed a near continuous swath of straight line wind damage beginning near Swansea, extending southeast across Lake Marion into Clarendon County. An EF1 tornado also occurred within this broader swath of damage. Combining ground observations and radar, this swath started with a strong macroburst near Swansea causing substantial tree damage along Pine Plain Road and elsewhere. The damaging winds pushed southeast across Saint Matthews and Lone Star before crossing Lake Marion. Additional damaging winds occurred in Summerton, Davis Station, and Wyboo.
Jacks Creek Campground on Lake Marion reported very strong winds for approximately 5 minutes. The strong winds blew several medium to large limbs down with several trash cans blown over. The winds produced large waves that caused a bow line on a boat to break while anchored at the dock.
