A microburst caused damage to the Strickland Estates mobile home park along Walnut Hill Rd NEAR SMITHFIELD. Emergency management reported 4 mobile homes destroyed and over 100 damaged. numerous trees were snapped and several outbuildings were damaged. The microburst had a path length of 300 yards and a maximum width of 500 yards.
A thunderstorm microburst passed across Fayette County. This microburst downed numerous trees and power lines across the area. The hardest hit area appeared to be the town of Grindstone, where widespread tree damage was reported.
The Fayette County emergency management director reported a 1/2 to 1 mile swath of trees down near Farmington in the area of State Route 381 and Rankin Road. The director stated the damage was due to straight line winds.
