Wind gusts from a rain shower knocked down a couple of tree branches onto a patio roof in Packerton and a car on Front Street in Jim Thorpe. Pennsylvania State Route 443 was closed for several hours during the afternoon of the 4th after a wind gust snapped a pole just below its T junction in Mahoning Township.
A severe thunderstorm knocked down a couple of trees in Mahoning Township and forced the closure of Pennsylvania State Route 902, Mill Road, near Straus Valley Road. There were still about 200 Pennsylvania Power and Light customers without power in Carbon County on the morning of the 8th.
A severe thunderstorm knocked down numerous trees and wires in the central part of the county. A funnel cloud and rotating wall cloud was seen around Lehighton and Jim Thorpe. Several trees and wires blocked roadways. Downed tree limbs and trees were reported in both Jim Thorpe and Lehighton where a Skywarn spotter estimated wind gusts to 70 mph.
