A supercell thunderstorm moved north-northeast across the central portion of Tulsa County producing a several mile wide swath of large, damaging hail. Reports of golfball or larger hail was common in a densely populated area of the county from Jenks to across the City of Tulsa. The largest hailstones reported were 3 inches in diameter. Many automobiles, homes, and businesses were damaged by the hailstorm.
Tennis ball size hail was reported by an off duty National Weather Service employee near 101st street and Sheridan Avenue. This hail was part of a large swath of large hail which fell from downtown Tulsa through western and southern parts of the city of Tulsa. The hail damaged many cars and roofs as well as being driven by wind through numerous windows.
At 908 pm cdt baseball size hail fell at 81st and Yale.At 908 pm cdt quarter size hail fell at 81st and Memorial.At 910 pm cdt golfball size hail fell at 81st and Sheridan.At 916 pm cdt golfball size hail fell at 91st and Memorial.
