Numerous images from various sources showing hailstones of up to 4-inches in diameter across the community of Ada. Widespread damage to vehicles and buildings reported. Time of event is estimated, with majority of hailfall occurring between 1650-1700 LST.
Thunderstorms developed in southern Oklahoma during the early afternoon hours on the 8th and produced hail up to nickel-size and wind gusts up to 65 mph. A thunderstorm wind gust to 65 mph blew down a three-inch diameter tree and turned a satellite dish out of position two miles north of Cyril.
Multiple shared images. Based on additional (digital) analysis conducted by the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS), the hailstone diameter may have been as large as 6.1 inches. Numerous additional hailstones up to 4 inches in diameter were also noted at this location. Time is radar estimated.
