Strong thunderstorm wind flipped a horse-drawn buggy injuring two passengers, one critically. The critically injured woman died in a hospital from her injuries on September 3rd. The strong wind also destroyed a barn and damaged two others in this vicinity.
Thunderstorm wind resulted in an estimated $1.1 million in damage across Mayes County during this severe thunderstorm. At least $408,000 of that estimate was from debris removal and damage to the utility infrastructure across the county. Some people were without power for over a week.
