What the reports say
Written by National Weather Service staff at the time of the event · public domain
Several homes, barns, and a grainery sustained minor damage. Tree limbs and power lines were also downed. The main area of damage was along Highway 183 from Hobart south. The report was relayed by the Kiowa county sheriff.
A storage facility in the south part of Hobart was damaged by thunderstorm winds, likely associated with a gustnado. Video and reports from storm chasers observed a brief area of surface rotation associated with power flashes in the vicinity of this damaged storage facility.
